Paris Haute Couture week 2024: the unmissable events
In the official schedule issued by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (FHCM) one can clearly read 30 names spread over four days, including big names and new entries. Schiaparelli opens on the morning of January 22nd. And if we are already anticipating the twists and turns after a series of “fairs” crossed the Parisian catwalk during the last hot season, to close there is already the first, great return: that of the Artisanal Of Maison Margielaafter two seasons of stopping.
Everyone is ready to admire the Couture creations of John Galliano. And among the unmissable events, also the fashion show Jean-Paul Gaultier The January 24thwho this time chooses as Guest Designer Simone Rocha. This is the sixth designer (the second woman, after Chitose Abe of Sacai) called by the Maison to reread her codes, after the launch of the new method in 2020. Also debuting with a new project Stephane Rollandwhich will host on the catwalk on January 23rd the creations of 20 students from the French fashion schools ESMOD and Institut Français de la Mode, conceived thanks to a masterclass held by the Maison during their first quarter.

Debuts and absences
Absent from the calendar, Balenciaga, Mugler, Iris Van Herpen, however in the spotlight with a retrospective at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris until 28 April 2024 (an event in the museum rooms is scheduled for 22 January). Among the niche names present Imane Ayissi, Juana Martin And Maison Sara Chraibi: the latter had debuted in the French Haute Couture calendar with the Spring-Summer 2023 collection. The Londoner originally from Hong Kong also returns Robert Wunafter missing the July edition.
New entry to keep an eye on among the Federation’s guests, the Dutch naturalized French designer Peet Dullaertwhich will close the runway show with the brand of the same name founded in 2012. Its wrinkled-effect dresses have already been chosen by a star of the caliber of Rihanna, and there is no doubt that after Couture week many others will follow suit.
