Finnish Star Juuse Saros28, will not come to this spring’s World Championships, says Häme Sanomat.

Saros, who saved Nashville Predators with a goal in the NHL, is suffering from an injury last season.

– This season I was still troubled by an old injury in my leg, which is why I wanted to take a longer break now. During that time, the goal is to get it confirmed for next season, Saros told Hämeen Sanom.

– So my season ended last week.

Saros was injured at the end of the regular season last season, and did not get to play in the spring games. The goalkeeper said he felt a “pop” in his ankle.

The Finnish keeper has been a strong bet this season. He made saves in 64 regular season games with 91.9 percent accuracy. Nashville did not make the playoffs.

Saros last played in the World Cup in the 2015–2016 season.

An NHL defenseman previously refused the Lions’ World Cup assignment Rasmus Ristolainen. However, Finland will get a strong confirmation when they decided last spring’s world championship Sakari Manninen confirmed his arrival at the Games.

The World Cup starts on May 12. The tournament will be played in Tampere and Riga.
