Harvey Weinstein, sentenced to 16 years in prison for rape and sexual assault

The Los Angeles County Superior Court (USA) sentenced former producer Harvey Weinstein to 16 years in prison this Thursday after being found guilty of three counts of rape and sexual abuse of a model of Italian origin.

The jury acquitted Weinstein of charges related to a second alleged victim and failed to reach a unanimous verdict on charges stemming from two other accusers.

One of them, documentary filmmaker Jennifer Siebel Newsom, now the wife of California Governor Gavin Newsom, had revealed that she was the alleged rape victim listed in court records as Jane Doe 4.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Lisa Lench declared a mistrial on the stalled charges.
