Hartwall has terminated its marketing agreement with Helsinki Halli Oy, which manages the Hartwall Arena. The company talks about the solution on their website.
– We will continue to operate under our official name Helsinki Halli Oy, the CEO of the arena Kimmo Kivisilta told Iltalehti.
Hartwall wanted to end its marketing cooperation with Helsinki Halli Oy, which manages the arena, when Russia started the war in Ukraine. Some of the arena’s shares are owned by people on Russian international sanctions lists.
– The war started by Russia is an absurd and reprehensible act. We no longer engage in marketing cooperation with Helsinki Halli Oy due to the war in Russia, Hartwall’s CEO Kalle Järvinen says the drink giant in the press release.
Hartwall has been the title sponsor of the multipurpose hall since the building was completed in 1997. The arena has been the home cave of the Jokers hockey club since the beginning.
In addition, the hall has hosted, among other things, the World Hockey Championships and various music concerts.
