Moderator Harry Wijnvoord sings about the deep love for his wife Iris, whom he met in 2019, in a sentimental hit.
The song is titled “Suddenly you were there” and is due to be released at the end of October, as the 73-year-old revealed to the German Press Agency. “It’s a declaration of love to my wife.”
In the text, Wijnvoord describes, among other things, that he once thought that he liked being alone – he didn’t lack anything. But then his wife came into his life. The Dutchman sings: “Suddenly you were there, in my life, suddenly everything was different for me. I feel like I can float again – into a brave new world next to you.”
The couple, who met in front of a bar during the Cologne carnival and now live in Münsterland, have been married in a civil registry office since 2021. A second, ceremonial wedding took place in March on a ship on the Rhine. Wijnvoord is best known as the host of the classic game show The Price is Hot. The RTL show recently experienced a comeback as part of the retro wave on German television. However, the 73-year-old has also recorded and released several songs as a singer.

Of course, his wife already knew the new, autobiographical song, said Wijnvoord – he played it to her and sang it to her. Iris was “totally enthusiastic” about the text. And married life goes on. “It doesn’t cool down that quickly either,” he assured.
However, Wijnvoord also had discussions to report. Background: Iris has a women’s boutique in Lüdinghausen. When asked if his wife was also giving him fashion advice, he replied: “I’m sometimes – as men are usually – resistant to advice.”
