Local residents have been celebrating Halloween together for a number of years. During the Halloween walk, children can visit various horror houses for a piece of candy… if they dare. This year the journey started at the horror hotel.

“I screamed quite a bit,” laughs a white-faced girl with dark rims around her eyes. Some fake blood comes from her eyebrow. The children themselves also tried hard to come up with an original costume. This includes the Joker, Harley Quinn and a murderous teddy bear.

More and more visited every year

Parents also dressed up quite a bit. “The parents actually find it scarier than the children and it is also the most fun to hit them against the ceiling,” says horror clown Harry. This certainly worked for a mother who comes out with her daughter with a shocked face. “I was more scared than she was,” she admits.

There is also plenty to do at other addresses in the area. A couple went all out and decorated the garden with spider silk, witches and other Halloween characters. “If you do it, you have to do it well,” they say.

The festival is more attended every year, the two notice. “I had already run out of candy, but fortunately someone brought extra,” said the woman of the house dressed as a witch.
