Harry Kane’s first weeks at FC Bayern were extremely exciting. Even though the German industry leader’s record-breaking newcomer has so far fitted in excellently both in terms of sport and personality, he definitely had to make some changes in some areas.
Harry Kane is currently with the England national team, of which he is captain. On Saturday there will be a European Championship qualifier against Ukraine, followed on Tuesday evening by the ever-young comparison with neighbors Scotland.
In the run-up to the match, the attacker was asked by the local press about his start at FC Bayern. After a tough poker game, the 30-year-old moved from Tottenham Hotspur to Munich in August for more than 100 million euros.
“It’s definitely a different pressure than at Spurs,” Kane revealed at a Three Lions press conference when asked about differences between his old and new employers.
The Bundesliga’s new superstar added: “Of course we wanted to win at Spurs too, but if you went a few games without a win, it wasn’t a disaster. At FC Bayern, on the other hand, there is the feeling that you have to win every game.”
FC Bayern: Harry Kane is surprised about dissatisfaction after victories
Kane used a current example to illustrate how extraordinary the expectations of the record champions in Germany are.
“We won the first two games 4-0 and 3-1 and there was still talk that we weren’t too happy with the way we were playing,” the veteran remarked smugly.
In the two games mentioned above against Werder Bremen and FC Augsburg, Kane shone with three goals and an assist, but overall FC Bayern played quite low-risk.
After the international break, Kane and Co. will probably have to step it up: then league leaders Bayer Leverkusen will be visiting the Allianz Arena.
