Harry and Meghan’s Christmas visit would be a disaster

Experts estimate that celebrating the public holidays together with the British court would tighten the inflamed gaps even more. However, Charles has not made his decision yet.

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have stated that spending Christmas with the royal family at Sandringham would be their preferred option this year. However, court sources say that King Charles will probably regret sending the invitation to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The claims of the court’s inner circle were reported, among other things Mirror and The Times.

– I do not believe that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would refuse the king’s invitation. However, such has not yet been seen.

Familiar with royalty of The Telegraph supplier Michael Deacon estimates that if Charles were to invite Harry and Meghan “home” for Christmas, he would very soon regret his decision.

– As we know, spending Christmas together can end up in a fight even in the happiest families. Especially with those who are already at each other’s throats.

With this he refers to the relationship between Harry and Charles, which has been difficult for a long time. Meghan also does not enjoy the popularity of the British court. In addition, author Omid Scobie’s recent book of revelations Endgame likely to tighten the gaps even further.

Journalist Phil Dampier, familiar with the royal family, is not surprised that Harry and Meghan are not welcome Christmas guests at the British court.

– The king has always “held the door open” for Harry and will continue to do so. If there are serious allegations in Scobie’s book, however, the possibility of a settlement may melt away.

Michael Deacon, on the other hand, continues that with Harry and Meghan there is also a risk that they will later share everything about their Christmas together in public, referring for example to the television interview given to Oprah Winfrey.

A growing guest list

For decades, it has been the custom of the British court to walk to church before the traditional Christmas Day lunch. From St. Mary Magdalene’s Church, the royals will head back to Sandringham. This year also Queen Camilla’s children, Tom Parker Bowles48, and Laura Lopes, 45, and the rest of the family participate in the traditional festive meal. Camilla has a total of five grandchildren.

– The guest list of those attending the Sandringham Christmas lunch will be radically updated. Now for the first time, it also includes many members of Queen Camilla’s family, said a royal expert Chris Shipp previously.
