Harry and Meghan evicted from Frogmore Cottage: Carlo kicks them out

dfter the many accusations launched in recent months by Harry and Meghanfirst in their Netflix docuseries and then the memoir Shoot, King Charles had remained silent. But now court sources reveal a lightning decision taken by the sovereign a few days after the publication of the book: an eviction notice by Frogmore Cottage for the Sussexes, effective immediately.

Harry and Meghan “kicked out” of Windsor: it’s Frogxit

To report the news is The Sun with the title Frogxitparaphrasing the megxit. In the aftermath of the publication of Shoot King Charles would authorize his assistants to write to the Sussexesinforming them of the decision: the Crown finally takes back Frogmore Cottage, the Royal residence that Harry and Meghan they had been able to occupy in Windsor, with the permission of Queen Elizabeth, since their wedding in May 2018.

Frogmore Cottage returns to the Crown

Before the wedding, Harry and Meghan personally supervised the extensive refurbishment of Frogmore Cottage, transformed back into a villa after being divided into several apartments for years. The cost had been exorbitant: over two and a half million pounds, first disbursed largely by British taxpayers and then, due to protests that even reached parliament, repaid by the couple who had already flown overseas.

Will Prince Andrew go to live there?

After the Sussexes left in 2020, first for Canada and then for the USA, the modest Frogmore Cottage had been occupied for a long time by Eugenia and husband Jack. Now that it is empty, and in another surprise move, the residence has reportedly been offered to Prince Andrew. In fact, Carlo would have asked his brother who fell into disgrace due to the Epstein scandal to leave the nearby Royal Lodge, the luxurious home he has occupied for years with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

Andrea doesn’t give up on Royal Lodge

Despite the possible short-term loss of the royal appanage that allows him to live in a Royal residence, Andrea, increasingly in the red, does not want to know, however, about moving. Royal Lodge is a real royal residence, it is located a few minutes walk from Windsor Castle and the Duke of York pays you a negligible rent. But Frogmore Cottage? Too small, would have been the Duke of York’s commentwith its five bedrooms and “just” two living rooms.

Harry and Meghan send moving trucks

However, even if brother Andrea doesn’t want to move to Frogmore Cottage, the decision regarding the Sussexes is final: Harry and Meghan will have to empty it once and for all of their belongings. In Windsor they are no longer welcome. Also because the Royal mansion it is located next to that Adelaide Cottage which since last year has become the main residence of William and Kate.
