Harri Säteri has signed a one-year contract with EHC Biel-Bienne, the club informs.
Säteri, 32, played last season in the KHL for Sibir Novosibirsk, but moved to the NHL for the Arizona Coyotes in the spring. Säteri got between the Coyotes’ posts in six games, but the save percentage remained a modest 86.6.
Last season in Sibir, he made 38 saves with a save percentage of 92.6. Säteri played in Sibir for two and a half seasons before moving to the NHL.
He also tried his wings in the NHL in the seasons 2011–2014 and 2017–2019. At that time, he represented the San Jose Sharks, Florida Panthers and Detroit Red Wings organizations.
Säteri served as the Lions’ number one goalkeeper at the Beijing Olympics in February and prevented Finland from winning Olympic gold. He was also part of the Lions’ team in May, when Finland won the World Cup gold at the home games.
Other Finns will play in Biel-Bienne next season, as they will represent the team in the coming season Toni Rajala mixed Jere Sallinen.
Serves as the head coach of the team Antti Törmänen.
Biel-Bienne was sixth in the regular season of the Swiss premier league last season, but the season ended in the quarterfinals.
