Harp and chirping vegetables! State Opera allows for sustained listening

An altar made of fruits, flowers and appetizers under a chandelier, the Apollo Hall covered with veils. The State Opera invited people to the fourth edition of “Sustainable Listening”, this time the topic was nutrition.

That means: There were impulse lectures between harp sounds (Clara Simarro) by Purcell, Corelli and drum improvisation (Joseph Protze). Hermann Lotze-Campen from the Potsdam Institute for Climate Research said, for example, that ten percent of humanity is hungry or suffers from morbid obesity.

The more serious the information became, the more threatening the background noise (director: Jana Beckmann). At times the sounds thundered like a thunderstorm over the spectators, who were listening spellbound while lying on cushions.

Highlight: When the DJ Gebrüder Teichmann created plaintive chirping sounds with a so-called wired heart and loose cable ends that they inserted into a potato, an apple and a tomato. Thunderous applause! The audience was then allowed to eat the appetizers. Vegan of course. Next episode on May 15, 2024.
