Harm Holman from Roden goes to The Hague to sort out the nitrogen file

He has a wealth of political and administrative experience, but has never been on the staff of The Hague. What motivates Harm Holman (66) of NSC from Roden to enter the House of Representatives?

He wants to play a role in smoothing the nitrogen dossier, a future for agriculture but also improvement of nature.

“That entire file has been at a standstill for four years and that is disastrous for agriculture, nature, housing, but also for festivals in our country. Something has to be done now.” According to Holman, the mistake has been made in The Hague in recent years that everyone started to profile themselves politically on the whole nitrogen issue. Holman is averse to that. “I do not aspire to a political career, I will sit in the House of Representatives to come up with a solution, and that in a pragmatic way. That is my style.”

Political reporter Serge Vinkenvlieg spoke to Holman about the stuck nitrogen file, his style and what he wants to do together with other northern Members of Parliament (story continues after video).
