Harm Edens is still not a fan of his SBS 6 colleague Martien Meiland. He’s lashed out at him countless times and this time he berates the TV star for “hysterical wine gay.”
It is clear that Harm Edens is not a fan of Martien Meiland. For years he has invariably lashed out at the star of Chateau Meiland in interviews. Two years ago, for example, he shouted that Martien would only be allowed to sit down in Dit Was Het Nieuws if he lowered his voice. “Naturally I don’t react very well to exalted fuss.”
Kiss on face
What would Harm do if Martien would sit next to him screaming in This Was Het Nieuws? “I get the urge to sit with a pillow on someone’s face,” he said at the time.
And last year Harm said it was good that he came to raise the level of SBS 6 as a presenter of 10 for Taal. “Such a channel would like to offer a diverse range. How long can you watch Martien Meiland before you become epileptic? So if you bring up low literacy there, they don’t think it’s crazy at all.”
Hysterical wine gay
Harm has just started a new season of 10 Voor Taal and during a promotion round he is asked about the viewing figures. Last year they were perfectly fine, purely and simply thanks to the Meilandjes.
“That had something to do with the fact that we were behind a hysterical wine gay,” Harm sneered at BNR Nieuwsradio. “Of course that also helps enormously. We were around 1.1 or 1 million or something like that. The lead-in was very good.”
Lower ratings
This season, the Meilandjes are not the lead-in of 10 for Taal and the viewing figures of the program are a lot lower. Yesterday, 447,000 people watched the quiz on SBS 6. Today Inside immediately attracted 951 thousand viewers.
It is not clear what exactly Martien thinks of Harm, but insiders claim that he calls him a grumpy eco-gay in private.
