The Harens Lyceum in Haren was briefly evacuated because an unknown man was walking around with a fake weapon.
The man had covered his face and allegedly entered the school with an indistinguishable weapon, writes RTV North†
The police turned up en masse and arrested the man.
‘Bizarre situation’
Vice-rector Albert Noord of the Harens Lyceum says it was ‘a bizarre situation for a while’. According to him, students quickly realized that it was a fake weapon. ‘The police arrived very quickly and had the situation under control quickly.’
