Harelbeke stays in penultimate place
RC Harelbeke has already lost four times in a row and is therefore in acute points trouble. The pressure to score points against Jong Cercle was quite high, but the home team didn’t seem to be bothered by that. Soli quickly secured an early 1-0 lead. There was no time for euphoria, however. A minute after the opening goal, Cercle was awarded a penalty after a hook error by Doumbia. Wilke did not hesitate and converted the penalty kick without any problems. After Soli dropped his second of the afternoon, the Harelbeek defense opened its doors completely. Wilke took full advantage and tapped in his second of the evening. The home side did not give up. It emphatically went looking for the connection goal and found it again via Soli.
Even after the break we got to see an open game with many chances. Groen-Zwart was the first to cash in on this via Ackx. Fifteen minutes from the end, Soli came close to the equalizer, but it was finally Wilke who completed his hat-trick.
The 2-4 defeat therefore does not yield any points for Harelbeke, which remains penultimate.
