A shop on the Ceintuurbaan, near the Sarphatipark in Amsterdam South, was hit by a thud last night.
The explosion occurred around 4:15 a.m. According to the police, the perpetrators were probably out to commit a burglary. Photos show that the explosion of the exterior mainly caused damage to the entrance.
Part of the road has been temporarily closed in order to conduct an extensive investigation, a spokesman said in a tweet. The Defense Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service (EOD) is currently on site for an investigation.
