Hard training with Austin Butler’s “Elvis” team for the role of Bob Dylan

In “A Complete Unkown,” Timothée Chalamet is set to portray folk legend Bob Dylan, directed by James Mangold. To do this, the young actor sought support from the dialect and singing teachers who had already prepared Austin Butler for the role of Elvis in 2022.

“I basically worked with his entire Elvis team for my Dylan preparation,” says Chalamet in an interview with US “GQ”. “There is a wonderful dialect coach named Tim Monich. A vocal coach named Eric Vetro. A movement coach named Polly Bennett. I just saw how [Butler] “He stood up for everything, and I realized that I had to improve.” In order to fully prepare for the role of the musician, Chalamet also read his memoirs “Chronicles”, which was published in 2004.

He has been feeling the role for three years, but the “Dune” actor has not yet met personally with Bob Dylan for the project. “Three years ago I didn’t want to do that because I just didn’t want to for superstitious reasons,” explains Chalamet in an interview. “Now I would love to.”

Filming for “A Complete Unkown,” which will primarily focus on Dylan’s transition from folk to rock music in 1965, was scheduled to begin in August 2023. But due to the writers’ and actors’ strike in Hollywood, the project was postponed. A release date has not yet been set.

Timothée Chalamet recently took on the role of Willy Wonka. The film “Wonka”, which is about the prequel to “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, was directed by Paul King and will be released in cinemas on December 8th.
