Maaret Pajunoja gave birth to her first child in September.
– Excited and anxious. I felt like canceling after the initial workout.
That’s how the national top-level skier laughed Maaret Pajunoja33, on Friday morning in Hakunila, Vantaa.
She came from maternity leave almost cold to the racetracks for the free SC sprint time trial.
– There are few ski kilometers. This season I have been skiing 1-2 times a week. I have maintained my fitness by walking jogging. Sometimes I have taken running steps with the pram.

The boy will be married on Friday Aki Pajunojan in steady hands. Aki Pajunoja is known to skiing people, among other things Krista Pärmäkoski as a manager and announcer of several skiing events.
– At the turn of the year I felt pretty good, so I decided that I want to do free sprint skiing at least once this season. I had a stomach bug in January, so it took my fitness down, commented Maaret Pajunoja, the 2022 bronze medalist of the free WC sprint.

Maaret Pajunoja works as a financial management consultant at Greenstep oy. In recent years, he has been a Pärmäkoski ski tester in the Madshus stable.
– I can’t really, and I don’t really want to go around doing ski testing anymore. Of course I help the skiers of Madshus, like Hilla Niemelää says the Finn, who did ski test work at the Ruka World Cup in November, several prestigious ski competitions and mc events before becoming a mother.
Pajunoja, who is still on maternity leave from her workplace, is still somewhat open about her relationship with competitive skiing. Last season, the woman made the results of her life in sprints, when she took 15th and 20th places in the MC races, for example.
– This season I am participating in a few competitions. We’ll see.
From Friday’s time trial, Pajunoja progressed brightly to the heat stage. He was seventh and 12.72 seconds behind the first place in the time trial Jasmi Joensuu. Considering Pajunoja’s training background this season, the result could be characterized as tough.
