Fashion designer Harald Glööckler (57) has demanded significantly more courage and imagination from the industry. «This is more necessary than ever. Everything seems the same, a lot is bland, »said Glööckler of the German Press Agency. “It’s high time to end the monotony.” He himself is currently celebrating the 35th anniversary of his Pompöös brand and is not thinking of stopping. “I’m far from finished. It’s only halftime.” A show is scheduled for Thursday evening (September 1) at the Palais Liechtenstein in Vienna, with which the artist is celebrating the anniversary.

“I also want to break boredom with the show,” said Glööckler. «It is necessary to celebrate fashion and beauty again. It is also important to give people more room for imagination in these times of crisis.” The Austrian capital is the right place for this. «Vienna stands for elegance and art and as a former imperial city also for power and influence. That fits.”

Looking back, Glööckler said he was the first artist to bring “real fashion” to teleshopping. “It was couture, not just a three-size-fits-all t-shirt. They were also chic cuts in larger sizes for women.” He dedicated his whole life to the beauty and elegance of women. “And it will stay that way until the end.” Glööckler was born in Maulbronn in Baden-Württemberg and lives in Kirchheim in Rhineland-Palatinate.
