The 54-year-old, who has a contract until 2024, was most recently with the Swiss club EV Zug in the youth division, before that in various positions at Rögle BK in Sweden.

As a player, Hansson had won the 1992 world championship title and 1994 Olympic gold with Sweden. Between 1996 and 2001 he played for the Kassel Huskies in the DEL.
