Second division soccer team Hansa Rostock has responded to the ongoing sporting crisis and fired coach Alois Schwartz. The club announced this on Wednesday.
“We have decided to release Alois Schwartz and Dimitrios Moutas (assistant coach, editor’s note) with immediate effect. We have made the decision to go into the second half of the season with a new coaching team,” said CEO Robert Mary.
The reason for the separation is the ongoing negative trend. “The table is always a testimony and we are currently in danger of being transferred,” said Marien. Hansa is in the relegation zone with 17 points from 16 games and is fighting to stay in the league. Rostock have only won one competitive game since October.
In the last game of the first half of the season at SC Paderborn on Friday (6:30 p.m./Sky), the team will be looked after by youth leader Uwe Speidel.
Schwartz only took up the position in Rostock in March of this year. After relegation, the contract, which expired at the end of the season, was extended until June 30, 2025.
