Hans Kraay Jr. has not been asked to return to the men of VI. He was kicked out of the program by Johan Derksen and he is at peace with that. “It is no longer necessary.”
Hans Kraay Jr. was dumped at VI after seventeen years when the program continued in January as a daily talk show about current affairs. It was Johan Derksen who made the decision to kick him out. “When we talk about other topics… Hans is not the man to talk about the economy or the environment,” he said.
“Carry on!”
Hans has therefore watched the entire candle riot around VI from the sidelines in recent weeks. “Not to make it more interesting, but because you just left there, a lot of people will ask if you want to join talk shows to talk about it and I didn’t need that at all,” he now says in the talk show Beau.
Hans could see it coming that the VI gentlemen would continue. “Yes. It’s their life. I’ve been with them for seventeen years and I know how much they love making television. I didn’t expect that they would be permanently off the tube. What I can say is: have fun and good luck, because they love making television, so I would say: carry on!”
‘Good luck!’
Hans is quite businesslike when he talks about VI. “I’ve had seventeen beautiful years and they have to do what they want. I expected them to come back and I wish them the best of luck.”
Has he been asked to return yet? “No, but you don’t have to.”
