Hans Klok has chosen not to sit with Sophie Hilbrand, but with Eva Jinek to talk about the new Pamela Anderson documentary. A downer for Khalid & Sophie.
Most talk shows think in the biggest clichés possible: Is there a Pamela Anderson documentary coming up? Put Hans Klok at the table! There is nothing surprising about it at all, but it is fun for the illusionist: he can add a nice talk show fee to his bank account. And apparently Jinek’s offer was better.
‘To attempt!’
Hans sat at Eva Jinek’s talk show table last night, but she was not the only talk show host who was interested. There is an extensive behind-the-scenes report about Khalid & Sophie in this week’s VARA guide and the editors of it appear to have been after him weeks ago.
The report makes it clear that inviting talk show guests often have very simple thoughts: “They read Freek de Jonge in the VARA guide and then about Het Leids Cabaret Festival, which was canceled due to a lack of talent. A refresher course, young comedians apprenticed to the old master? To attempt? To attempt.”
Hans is not coming
A look at the viewing figures also offers Khalid & Sophie inspiration. “But still: that series about the flood disaster with Winfried Baijens. He’s ready, we can do it if we want. Plus: nice boy, that series is well viewed and there is a nice picture. Min: he is also already in Time for MAX. Nah, not so bad. Just put it on.”
And so it goes on and on at the talk show’s weekly meeting. “Oh no, one more thing: this series about Pamela Anderson is coming out this month. Hans Klok? Sure.”
Hans Klok? Sure. But not with Khalid & Sophie.
Television money
Incidentally, Hans has not asked for money for his performances on television for years, but that has changed in the corona time. Now he asks for a standard fee when he comes by. “I started asking for money to join them. My bills also need to be paid,” he said a while ago.
According to TV connoisseur Rob Goossens of RTL Boulevard, talk show fees start at 350 euros, although Marc-Marie Huijbregts receives 2,000 euros, according to him. “Total waste of money.”
VARA guide
You can read the backstage report about Khalid & Sophie in the latest VARA guide. Those directly involved, including the presenters, shed their light on how the program is doing now.
Khalid & Sophie attracted 654 thousand viewers on the eve of NPO 1 yesterday, not enough for a spot in the top 15 viewing figure.
