Hanover 96: rumors about Kruse change – Japanese Matsuda approaching

TM community divided

Former international Max Kruse has been without a club since his release from VfL Wolfsburg. The 35-year-old has made it known several times over the past few months that he doesn’t want to hang up his football boots and wants to continue playing at a high level if possible. At the beginning of the week, after a statement by Kruse, there was speculation about a possible commitment to second division club Hannover 96, and 96 sports director Marcus Mann has now also commented on the personnel. In the TM community, a Kruse transfer to the Reds is currently being discussed controversially.

“I would deal with it because I want to play football again. I’m not ruling anything out,” quoted the “Picture“-Zeitung the Reinbeker native to the question of whether a job in the 2nd Bundesliga would be conceivable for him. Shortly thereafter, Mann also commented on the subsequent speculation about Lower Saxony as a potential buyer. “Max Kruse’s footballing qualities are undisputed. We haven’t discussed it yet,” said the 39-year-old.

Discuss the Hannover 96 squad now in the forumThis way
Since then there has been a lot of discussion in the TM forum as to whether Max Kruse could help the ambitious Hanoverians with a view to the coming season. “In fact, Max Kruse could be exactly the striker that we lacked in difficult phases. With his ability, his style, he has carried many other teams. It is questionable, however, whether Leitl would like to have such an ‘enfant terrible light’ in our squad, or whether he is no longer on the road like his colleague Kovac …”, says user “Skordie”.

Max Kruse to Hanover 96? Pros & Cons in TM community

“RoterHamburger” takes a similar line: “I think it’s great. I also firmly believe that he could still be a difference player in the second division in the next year or two. I don’t find him unsympathetic as a guy either. Of course he’s someone who likes to express his opinion, but if you define a clear role for him beforehand and communicate that, I wouldn’t rate him as a stinker. Ideally, you would give him a one-year contract and, in the worst case, be rid of him quickly.”

“AttaboomTTV”, on the other hand, takes a critical view of the personnel: “I don’t think you should bring a Kruse into the house … The salary structure could be blown up, and he’s always annoying and these disruptive fires should be avoided. I don’t think he would get along with Leitl because he wants to do what he wants, not what other people want.”

TM user “OnlyH96” has a similar opinion: “To be honest, I don’t see it here at all. We need high pressing in our game and he absolutely cannot do that. He’s undoubtedly a great kicker, but not what we need. In his last two positions, he also did not get along with his coach. Do we want to take that risk? In addition, there are high salary expectations, little playing time, a lack of fitness and an unprofessional life off the pitch. Honestly, before I would offer Kruse a lot of money, I’d rather invest money in the transfer and get someone else.”

Matsuda at Hannover 96 approaching – no change of target to Liverpool

Meanwhile, the Japanese U20 national player Hayate Matsuda at Maschsee is apparently the second new signing after Marius Wörl. The deal is due to the cooperation announced at the end of April with the Japanese second division club Mito Hollyhock, writes the “Bild”. The 19-year-old left-back is supposed to train with ex-professional trainer Daniel Stendel’s U23s in the summer, but official confirmation from 96 is still pending.

On the other hand, six departures have already been determined for the Reds, but a change from goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler is not an issue for the club management. The 34-year-old has been repeatedly linked with Liverpool in recent months, who are said to be looking for a new number two. The employment of ex-96 manager Jörg Schmadtke as sports director at the Reds fueled the rumors.

“Ron is firmly planned for us. And that’s good. We don’t think about it every day,” Mann commented on the speculation. There was no request for the goalkeeper, whom Schmadtke put on a leash from Manchester United in 2010.
