TSV Hannover-Burgdorf’s short winning streak in the handball Bundesliga has ended.
Former national coach Christian Prokop’s team failed to beat relegation candidate ThSV Eisenach on Friday evening away from home by 31:31 (14:11) and, after four wins in a row, missed a valuable point in the fight for international places.
After the 25th matchday, Hannover remains in sixth place (28:20 points), MT Melsungen in fifth place (33:17) fulfilled their obligation shortly before with a 25:22 (12:10) at HBW Balingen-Weilstetten.
Eight goals from national player Renars Uscins were not enough for Hannover to achieve success. The Swiss Manuel Zehnder secured a draw for the promoted team with a converted seven-meter penalty in the final minute, which meant they left the relegation zone for the time being after five defeats in a row.
