Hannover 96: Sebastian Kerk moves to Poland to join Widzew Lodz

First station abroad

After leaving Hannover 96, Sebastian Kerk went abroad for the first time. The 29-year-old joins Polish first division club Widzew Lodz, with whom he has signed a contract until 2025 with an option for a further season. The offensive player came to Hanover from VfL Osnabrück in 2021 and made 51 appearances in 96, in which he contributed twelve goals and five assists. Kerk lost his regular place last season.

“This transfer cost us a lot of work, which we put into analyzing the player and negotiating. We managed to convince the player to choose Widzew over other options in Poland, Hungary and the Middle East. Sebastian wants to play and take a leading role in the team. We won him over with the club’s high degree of organisation, the sporting development strategy, the large fan base and the attractive city. We are counting on him to increase our offensive potential and at the same time be a leader in the team. He’s played in big clubs, so he knows what pressure means and has shown his skills on many occasions,” said sporting director Tomasz Wichniarek.
