Hanna Kinnusen’s work in the public sector started 20 years ago, when she won the Do you want to be a movie star reality TV contest.
Actor, radio host and music producer – multi-talented in the media and entertainment industry Hanna Kinnusella, 42, has a long list of professional titles. After all, he has been in the industry for 20 years.
On Sunday, May 21, Kinnuse turned exactly 20 years old since he took his first steps in working in the public sector. Kinnunen now tells Iltalehti how the jubilee year feels.
– The way that time has gone really fast in such a short time. It’s hard to understand, and it even seems confusing, Kinnunen describes to Iltalehti at the Bottega tasting event.
– On the other hand, I also have a grateful and good feeling because I can still work in this field, Kinnunen adds.
A long working career has taught Kinnuse a lot – and will certainly continue to teach. One of the biggest lessons of being an actor is that you should boldly say yes to even the craziest ideas.
– It doesn’t matter if you fail – the most important thing is that you get to do things that inspire and teach you something new. Both professionally and as a person, Kinnunen advises.

Kinnunen says that he has seen all sides of publicity. In his career, he has also found himself in situations where no one wanted him for work gigs. How has he survived such situations?
– First of all, because I have had a master’s degree in communication. Publicity has never been my goal, but to be able to do things that are inspiring and important to me. Publicity has been a byproduct that comes as a side dish, Kinnunen opens.
– Since publicity has never been my identity, such situations have not discouraged me either. Maybe more made me wonder about people’s behavior, Kinnunen adds.

Unfortunately, one of the bad aspects of the industry has also been sexual harassment. Kinnunen has seen moments in his career when people pat him on the shoulder and, unfortunately, also on his backside.
In the interview, he doesn’t want to go into details, but opens the door a little to his dark experiences.
– Especially as a younger woman, she has had to learn to stick to her own boundaries. For example, about what situations it is okay to pat on the rear. Let’s say that when #MeToo came, it was a really welcome thing, Kinnunen tells Iltalehte.
Kinnunen encourages people to make their own boundaries clear to the outside as well – in any field. Despite his experiences, the radio host wants to remind you that the mood is no longer the same as it was in the 21st century.
In addition, Kinnunen strongly emphasizes that he does not support man-hating, despite his unpleasant experiences.
– It really doesn’t mean that all men are pigs. Times have changed, which is a really good thing, praises Kinnunen.

Although there have been challenges in his career, Kinnuse has also had many moments of success. Even today, there is plenty of versatile work, and as experience and age accumulate, Kinnuses doesn’t feel any older.
Finally, Kinnunen gives an important tip to people who are looking to enter the media and entertainment industry.
– This is a great field where you can experience many interesting adventures professionally. But think about the reasons why you want this. The best motive is to want to enter this field because you want to be able to do these things, Kinnunen states.
– You shouldn’t want to be in any field in order to become a celebrity – that’s not enough, Kinnunen emphasizes.
