Hanna Kebinger started the season with great hope. But things aren’t going well for the 26-year-old. Now it’s breaking off prematurely.
Biathlete Hanna Kebinger ended the season early after missing out on taking part in the World Cup. After a corona infection at the end of November last year, she did not get back into shape; the decision was now made in consultation with the doctors.
“I did everything I could to get fit, but I had to realize that my body was on strike and there was no energy, which is why I had to end my season early in consultation with the team doctors,” the 26-year-old wrote on Instagram. She wants to recover physically and mentally and then attack again.
The Bavarian had already struggled with health problems in the previous season and had to work her way up through the lower-class Germany Cup and the second-class IBU Cup. However, she took advantage of her chance at the World Cup in Antholz and was nominated for the World Cup, even though she only achieved half the standard in the pursuit by finishing tenth. In Oberhof she won the silver medal in the relay at the World Championships last year.
