Dursun Özbek, the new president of Galatasaray Club, took over the task from former president Burak Elmas with a ceremony.
The handover ceremony held in the clubhouse, closed to the press, was broadcast live on GSTV. At the ceremony, Burak Elmas addressed Özbek, “We, like you, are Galatasaray fans who do not need a seat in Galatasaray and are at the disposal of this club. We set out with certain ideals, there were things we did or could not do in our period, and our period was not enough. Ensuring unity and solidarity in Galatasaray, “The values of Galatasaray must be lived at the highest level and there must be a proper style in Galatasaray. We were not successful, I hope your period will be a period when this is achieved. I wish you and your friends success in this journey.” he said.
Noting that Özbek has taken on a difficult task, Elmas said, “They put their hands under the stone. Galatasaray is a very big institution. This is a service race. Dursun the president will do this properly. We will hand over and return to the stands in a way that befits Galatasaray.” said.

President Dursun Özbek, on the other hand, noted that he always saw Elmas close to him and that they should be in contact, and said:
“The handover ceremonies don’t happen like in other institutions. We are part of a family. I saw you that way when I was in administration, too. I always saw you as close to myself and at the level of a brother. Galatasaray’s exit from these difficult days is possible with the continuation of this unity and solidarity. I will not leave any of you alone, here. I will see. There was a process and we came as a continuation of this process. It is not possible to manage the club without knowing what happened before. I ask again and again that there is no disconnection in terms of continuity. There are your savings, experiences and information we need to get from you. After Elmas delivered the resignation letters of the names of the companies of the yellow-red club to Özbek during his period, they hugged and said goodbye.
