Handicap International presents new campaign

Handicap International unveiled their new campaign in various places in Flanders. In our province she told more about it in the self-picking farm Herenhoeve in Meulebeke.

Innovation

The campaign focuses on rehabilitation care, which improves the quality of life for people with limited mobility. Around the world, 250 million people need crutches, prostheses or a wheelchair, but only 10 percent have access to assistive devices.

To do something about this, Handicap International focuses on innovation in solutions for the vulnerable group. For example, together with Howest University of Applied Sciences, it is developing new prostheses in different materials. They also use technology to 3D print it.

Handicap International fights for the interests of people with disabilities and, as the name suggests, is also active abroad. Now that a war has been raging in Ukraine for several months, they are advising local hospitals about burns, but also amputation and trauma.

The NGO calls on everyone to join ‘We Move Together’. With the blue laces, the well-known statement of support for her worldwide projects is back.
