Handcuffed man in socks is still without a trace: ‘They are actively working on it’

The man who walked through Helmond with handcuffs on his wrists on Thursday morning has still not been found on Friday morning. That says a police spokeswoman. “We are of course actively working on it and looking for it.”

The man ran off Thursday morning after officers handcuffed him. They did this after an ‘event in the domestic atmosphere’. The man then walked through the city in socks and asked bystanders to free him. According to witnesses, the man told them he had a wild night with his wife.

According to it ED the man would also have approached someone from the parks department with the request to sharpen his handcuffs. According to this employee, the man would have had a grinder with him. Where he got it from has not been disclosed.

The green worker refused to help the man for fear of cutting his wrists. There was also no electricity nearby. The suspect could not run fast with the handcuffs on, the man from the parks service saw.

It concerns a man who is about 50 years old. According to the police, he has an unkempt appearance. He wore a T-shirt with a picture of a city on Thursday and dark shorts.
