It’s the turn of the two teams and the national anthems of the two nations are about to be played.

The Netherlands remained undefeated in the group phase and in the main round group four and advanced to the quarter-finals as group winners. There, head coach Per Johansson’s team lost clearly against Norway with 23:30. In the placement games, the 2019 world champions beat Montenegro 28:25 and are now playing against Germany for fifth place.

After Germany moved into the quarter-finals as second in the main round group and with only one defeat against Denmark, head coach Markus Gaugisch’s team lost 20:27 to Sweden in the quarter-finals. Due to the second defeat in the tournament, the German women missed the semi-finals and were challenged in the placement games last Friday. The DHB women won confidently against the Czech Republic with 32:26. Now it’s all about fifth place for Germany. A win in today’s game can mean a lot: it depends on who the DHB team has to compete against in the Olympic qualification tournament.
