Handball: Women’s European Championship qualification against Greece moved, handball – handball

The game originally planned for April 20 in Chalkida will now be played on April 21 (7:30 p.m.) in Almere, the Netherlands.

The reason for the change is a joint proposal by the three associations from Germany, Greece and the Netherlands, approved by the European Handball Federation (EHF), to play all outstanding games in one country after Belarus was suspended. The Netherlands will host Greece on April 24th.

Greece gives up home advantage

“A big thank you goes to the EHF for approving this proposal, which makes sense for all teams in terms of travel. The fact that Greece foregoes home advantage and the Netherlands are committed to hosting a game without their own participation is not a matter of course and shows the friendly cooperation of the three associations”, said DHB sports director Axel Kromer.

With a win against Greece, the DHB selection would make participation in the finals from November 4th to 20th in Slovenia, Montenegro and North Macedonia perfect. The DHB women will play their last appearance before the summer break on April 23, also in Almere, in an international match against the Netherlands that was agreed at short notice.
