Handball players start the Golden League with a surprising, big win over Denmark | Other sports

The Dutch handball women have started the Golden League convincingly. National coach Per Johansson saw his team beat Denmark in Copenhagen 30-22.

The Golden League is a preparation tournament for the European Championship, which will be held in North Macedonia, Slovenia and Montenegro in November. Norway (Saturday) and Switzerland (Sunday) are the other opponents.

The Orange quickly ran away from Denmark and led 18-9 halfway through. The big win was surprising. The Netherlands went to Copenhagen with a battered selection. Just before the training camp, Dione Housheer and Harma van Kreij dropped out with injuries.

Johansson already missed the injured Danick Snelder and Larissa Nusser and was also unable to rely on Lois Abbingh and Tess Wester due to pregnancies.
