Handball: National player extended in Bietigheim

The German handball champion SG BBM Bietigheim has extended the contract with captain Xenia Smits (28) for another season until 2024. The club announced this on Thursday.

“We are happy to be able to extend with our captain, because she also had offers from abroad, which were financially beyond good and evil,” said sports director Gerit Winnen about the further cooperation with the 97-time national player, who has played for Bayern Munich since 2020 Bietigheim runs up.
