The Füchse Berlin handball players remain victorious in the European League. The Bundesliga team won against the French representative Chambéry Savoie and is early group winner.
The Füchse Berlin are still unbeaten in the Handball European League. The Bundesliga team won its fifth game on Tuesday evening against the French representative Chambéry Savoie with 36:31 (17:14) and thus secured group victory and progress to the next round before the last match day next week. The best Berlin throwers were Moritz Sauter with eight and Max Darj with seven goals.
Playtime for the youngsters
In France, coach Jaron Siewert gave superstar Mathias Gidsel a break and didn’t even take him with him. There was also a lot of rotation right from the start and the youngsters got a lot of playing time. The Berliners were particularly good in defense, behind them keeper Dejan Milosavljev shone with several saves.
The Foxes took the lead right from the start, but at times they struggled to attack and made too many technical errors. But because the French also showed a lack of concentration, the guests stayed ahead and even led by six goals (20:14) shortly after the break.
Although Berlin’s defense was no longer quite as compact in the second half and Chambéry found it easier to score goals again, the Foxes always had an answer and could continue to rely on keeper Milosavljev. So victory was never in danger.
