Germany loses the game for third place. In the end, Alfred Gislason’s team had to admit defeat to the Swedes 34:31.
At halftime the DHB team was already six goals behind. In the second half they started a brave comeback, but in the end it wasn’t rewarded.
The consequence: The Germans not only miss the bronze medal, but also direct Olympic qualification.
