According to Timo Kastening, national goalkeeper Andreas Wolff is a stroke of luck for German handball.
“He looks for responsibility and is not afraid to express his opinion. Guys like that are good for a team,” the right winger of the DHB selection praised the world-class keeper and added: “Andi is someone who questions himself a lot and always want to work on yourself.”
With his open and direct manner, Wolff is at the same time a popular conversation partner in the media and therefore a face of the sport in public.
“That’s why everyone is happy when he says what he thinks. Because everyone knows that he is 100 percent authentic,” said Kastening.
In terms of sport, the goalkeeper from the top Polish club Industria Kielce is beyond any doubt. After Wolff’s outstanding performance in the 27:14 win against Switzerland in the opening game of the European Championship, the DHB selection is also building on the 2016 European champions in the second group game against North Macedonia on Sunday (8.30 p.m./ZDF and Dyn) in Berlin. “We said “Andi, keep it up and nail down the hut in every game. Then it will be a successful tournament,” reported Kastening.
