Handball club Füchse Berlin removes Rammstein from the opening show

Walking in to the sounds of the intro of “Deutschland” – that will no longer happen for Füchse Berlin in the future. For the past four years, the handball club had stuck to its introductory show including the Rammstein song, but now that is about to change. Management emphasizes that this has nothing to do with the allegations against Till Lindemann.

Manager Bob Hanning made a statement about the matter to “Bild”: “We change our show every three years. That had nothing to do with Rammstein. What’s new is that the team no longer runs individually, i.e. separately, but now together as a team and we needed different music for that.” So it’s all supposedly pure coincidence.

How “Ran” reported, the Füchse Berlin would bring the capital even further to the forefront of the indoor show. In addition, some sponsors have reportedly expressed concerns about whether it is still appropriate to continue using the song given the criticism of Rammstein. The new show will apparently be seven minutes long and create more of a party atmosphere. Video sequences would also be recorded and fog and light elements would be used. The club benefits from the programmable LED panel technology in the Max Schmeling Hall. They want to present a new induction trailer for the upcoming game against Magdeburg.

In June there was still no talk of a change

Sports director Stefan Kretzschmar initially did not want to change anything about the music selection due to the allegations against Till Lindemann. “We designed the entrance music for the entire season. “I currently think that turning this all inside out because of the general reporting is actionism,” Kretzschmar told “Sport Bild” in June. Now the Füchse Berlin have removed Rammstein from their show.

The Berlin public prosecutor’s investigation into Till Lindemann has now been dropped. Nevertheless, the question still remains as to what extent the alleged casting of women and the after-show parties with Till Lindemann that allegedly took place could have exceeded moral and ethical boundaries.
