TVB Stuttgart presents, Frisch Auf equalizes

Already in the first half, the home team had a slight lead in terms of results, although their lead was usually only very thin – 2:0 after four minutes of play, 5:3 (8th), 6:4 (11th). It wasn’t until the 18th minute and Sebastian Heymann’s goal to make it 9:9 that Frisch Auf equalized.

From then on, both teams offered the around 6,000 handball fans in the hall a neck-and-neck race, and Stuttgart went into the half-time break with another narrow two-goal lead (16:14). Even in the second round, the Swabian derby remained a close and competitive match, with TVB mostly leading the way and Göppingen trying to keep up.

In the final phase, however, a trend became apparent: Fernández Jiménez scored to make it 30:25, and the hosts were almost comfortably in the lead by five goals (53.). Göppingen’s comeback with goals from Marcel Schiller and Jaka Malus started too late.
