Handball Bundesliga | Lübbecke descends

The TuS N-Lübbecke handball players are the first to be relegated from the Bundesliga.

Coach Emir Kurtagic’s team won 21:20 (9:12) against TSV Hannover-Burgdorf. Since the East Westphalian rival TSV GWD Minden won 22:21 (13:12) against HC Erlangen, TuS has to leave the first division again after just one year.

For Minden, the win is equivalent to staying in the league. Before the last day of the game on Sunday, coach Frank Carstens’ team is two points and 42 goals ahead of HBW Balingen-Weilstetten. The Swabians hardly have a realistic chance of rescue. Goalkeeper Malte Semisch once again provided great support for Minden with eleven saves.

Master Magdeburg wins East Derby

SC Magdeburg, who had already celebrated winning the second all-German championship last week, beat SC DHfK Leipzig 36:31 (17:16) in the East Derby. The Saxons kept the game open until 28:30 (52 nd ) before Magdeburg Tempo-Handball prevailed. Promoted HSV Hamburg lost its home game against TVB Stuttgart with 27:32 (13:16).
