With its fifth away win of the season, GWD Minden has left the relegation zone in the Handball Bundesliga (HBL), at least for the time being. On Saturday evening, the East Westphalians celebrated a 26:25 (12:12) victory over their rivals Bergischer HC and pushed past the HBW Balingen-Weilstetten team (both 15:45) with the same number of points to 16th place.
Darmoul best shooter at Minden
After ex-national player Christian Zeitz missed the great opportunity to increase Minden’s lead to 27:25 in the penultimate minute, GWD keeper Malte Semisch secured the victory for the guests with a save 37 seconds before the end.
In front of 1,602 spectators, Mohamed Darmoul was the best scorer for Minden with seven goals, for the BHC David Schmidt (6) scored the best.
