Magdeburg can still counterattack

The Champions League winner can regain the lead in the table with a home win on Sunday against VfL Gummersbach (3 p.m., live ticker at sportschau.de).

In Wetzlar, the Foxes lived up to their role as favorites right from the start. With four goals, the guests took an early lead to 4-0, also thanks to three, some outstanding, saves from keeper Dejan Milosavljev.

Gidsel surpasses Lindberg

The Berliners remained dominant and were once again able to rely on Bundesliga record goalscorer Hans Lindberg (five goals).

However, the best thrower on the Füchse side was the Danish world champion Mathias Gidsel with seven goals, while HSG right winger Domen Novak also impressed with seven goals with an impeccable shooting rate.

Flensburg-Handewitt wins the pursuit duel

The new third place in the table is SG Flensburg-Handewitt, which won the duel against MT Melsungen with 34:24 (18:14) and overtook North Hesse.

Lasse Möller increased the lead for the SG to seven goals for the first time in the 44th minute with 26:19. The preliminary decision was made and the hosts continued to extend their impressive series against Melsungen. In the 37th duel between the two teams, it was the North Germans’ 31st victory.
