Han Kjøbenhavn has teamed up with video game developer Blizzard Entertainment for his latest collection, bringing the game ‘Diablo IV’ to life in the form of looks.
Jannik Wikkelsø Davidsen, the Danish fashion house’s creative director, was inspired by ‘Sanktuario’ of the fictional world of video games for his current collection ‘Chthonic Penumbra’, Blizzard announced on Monday. The runway show, held on Saturday during Milan Fashion Week, was accompanied by “dystopian sounds”.
The FW23 collection featured handcrafted faux fur, vegan leather and feather elements. The color palette was particularly characterized by somber grey-black tones, which were rounded off with a few highlights in red, white and mother-of-pearl. The silhouettes oscillated between static leather looks with flared shoulders and pieces with large artistic collars that could also be part of a couture collection, to sensual, lighter looks that played with cascading fabrics and transparency, but still possessed a majestic elegance and strength to express. “The dramatic presentation aims to evoke images of ‘hell as a place of beauty,'” the statement said.
