With a hammer in his hand, a man was out and about in City West on Wednesday evening. The police put an end to the horror – arrest!

As the police announced on Thursday, a witness called the police to Brandenburgische Straße/Konstanzer Straße around 9 p.m. – there a man (30) ran down the street swinging a hammer.

The officials asked the man to drop the hammer – to no avail. Instead, the man ran into the Prussian Park. There he was again asked to drop the hammer. Now he went towards the emergency services swinging the hammer!

After threatening to use a firearm, he fled again and was able to be disarmed and arrested in Bayrische Strasse by using pepper spray.

The 30-year-old put up considerable resistance when he was arrested. A police officer was injured in the hand. The suspect was taken to a hospital with a psychiatric ward by paramedics.
