Promoted HSV Hamburg has ended its negative series in the Handball Bundesliga after a good twelve weeks. The North Germans, who were last successful before Christmas, beat HC Erlangen at home by 30:29 (15:13). It had previously lost five in a row.
National goalkeeper Johannes Bitter fended off a seven-meter throw from Johannes Sellin seconds before the end and secured Hamburg’s victory. After the success, HSVH is eleventh in the table with 18:26 points, Erlangen (17:29) is in 13th place. Hamburg’s Casper Ulrich Mortensen and HC player Simon Jeppsson were the best throwers with eight goals each.
In the table basement, GWD Minden won 21:19 (10:7) at TuS N-Lübbecke and left last place. Minden overtook the new 17th Lübbecke with the win, and HBW Balingen-Weilstetten is now 18th.
