Accordingly, sporting events with fewer than 5,000 participants may continue to take place in the Hanseatic city under the open sky and under 2G conditions (vaccinated and convalescent). This also applies to football stadiums, confirmed the spokesman for the social welfare authority, Martin Helfrich, of the German press agency. According to the 2G rules, events with up to 2,500 participants are possible indoors.
Up to 1,000 spectators are allowed in Schleswig-Holstein
In Schleswig-Holstein, 1,000 spectators will be allowed inside and outside at major sporting events. However, after December 26th, neither the handball top clubs THW Kiel and SG Flensburg-Handewitt nor the second division football team Holstein Kiel have home games. The ordinance in Schleswig-Holstein is valid until January 18th.
Do the Hamburg clubs make use of this?
To what extent the Hamburg clubs will make use of the new rule is unclear and therefore also whether the home game of the Hamburg Towers against the Gießen 46ers in the basketball Bundesliga on Boxing Day and the handball Bundesliga home game of HSV Hamburg against Bergische HC take place on Monday in front of an audience. The second division soccer clubs HSV and FC St. Pauli will not play for points until mid-January after the winter break.
Under 3G, i.e. for vaccinated, convalescent or tested persons, the new regulation allows outdoor events with up to 500 participants, if there are fixed seats or with up to 250 participants without fixed seats. Indoor events may only take place under 2G.
