At the weekend, Dietmar Hamann criticized Thomas Tuchel again. FC Bayern doesn’t want to let that happen – and is defending itself.
FC Bayern Munich has responded to Dietmar Hamann’s criticism of coach Thomas Tuchel with clear words. Hamann spoke on the TV show “Sky 90” of being “insolent” and accused Tuchel of offering himself as Xavi’s successor at FC Barcelona.
During a visit to the fan club, Tuchel was asked about the idea of becoming a coach in Spain at some point and explained that he could imagine it. In addition, Tuchel had said that, from his point of view, Spain had “an extraordinary league” and that the Spanish professionals with whom he had worked so far in his career were characterized by “an incredible amount of self-confidence.”
Now CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and sports director Christoph Freund clearly stood in front of their coach: “On Sunday (…) our head coach Thomas Tuchel was told by the supporters about his coaching career and his previous experiences abroad at Paris St. Germain and FC “We asked Chelsea about it and of course provided information about it in the conversation,” said a statement from the German record champions.
“He also answered general questions from fans about Spain as a football country. He never spoke about Xavi Hernández and his successor, as was falsely claimed afterwards. We will no longer accept such unobjective statements directed against our coach, which always come from the same place “, it said there.
