Hamann calls for Flick to be kicked out: “What else should happen?”

Former national player Dietmar Hamann has repeatedly asked the German Football Association (DFB) to separate from national coach Hansi Flick.

“What else should happen?” asked the “Sky” expert in view of the recent World Cup disaster and the “underground” first half hour in the international match against Belgium (2: 3).

“I have big, big concerns that things will get better in the next few months and up until the European Championships if we continue in this constellation,” added Hamann. “Nothing has changed at all,” the fans would be “served the same crap as at the World Cup and will turn away sooner or later,” complained the 49-year-old.

There can be no question of the hoped-for “spirit of optimism or euphoria”. The new director Rudi Völler cannot change that. “If things continue like this on the pitch, you can put whoever you want in management positions,” emphasized Hamann.

Flick tried to “speak up” the Belgium game and thus made it clear “how high the demands are still on the national team. I don’t know where you can see positive aspects.” He only exempted Dortmund’s Emre Can from his criticism.

Hamann found it incomprehensible that Flick did without defender Antonio Rüdiger against Peru (2-0) and Belgium. “You have to build a defense around him, he urgently needs to go back!”
