Hallhuber stops online shop during self-administration proceedings

The insolvent Munich clothing supplier Hallhuber GmbH has shut down its online shop.

The website states that the e-commerce platform is not available “at the moment” and that customers should use one of the almost 200 Hallhuber stores in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

The company also links a customer newsletter there, which provides information about the opening of self-administration proceedings and the consequences for customers. It states that existing claims from returns already made cannot be paid out. The claims are retained, but even after the procedure has been completed, only a quota is paid, the amount of which has not yet been determined.

In the case of current returns, the returned goods become the property of the clothing supplier, but here too there is currently no refund. Returns in the store are also currently not possible.

Hallhuber regrets the effects on its customers and is working “with all its might to be able to return to the usual Hallhuber online service as quickly as possible,” according to the statement.

The company had to file for bankruptcy again at the end of May. The district court of Munich granted Hallhuber’s application for provisional self-administration. The clothing supplier is currently looking for new investors.

FashionUnited has asked Hallhuber for a statement.
